When it comes to hair removal, we have what it takes to achieve the results you want.
ALMA SOPRANO XL - NEARLY PAINLESS HAIR REMOVAL
One of the longstanding issues with hair removal techniques has been the discomfort. With this revolutionary device, hair can be effectively removed virtually without pain! Now you can throw away your razor, or stop visiting your local salon for waxing. With the Pain-Free, Hair-Free™ treatment, you get to enjoy perpetually silky smooth skin with fewer treatments.
How it works
During treatment with this innovative laser technology, laser energy is pulsed in milliseconds, directing light on the skin. The energy from this light travels through the skin, and becomes absorbed by the pigment within the hair follicles and shafts. Though the surface skin is left fully intact, hair follicles become disabled through the absorption of laser energy, halting the current growth cycle of hair.
Areas of treatment
Laser hair removal can be performed on all areas of the body, except area close to the eyes. Popular areas include:
- Bikini area
What to expect
Lasers have greatly improved the process of hair removal when compared to older techniques like electrolysis. Further advancements now allow for even greater comfort. Through constant motion during treatment, a mild warming sensation is all that is felt.
Treatment time varies based on the area being treated. Areas like the upper lip are completed in a few minutes, whereas areas like the legs or entire back may take up to sixty minutes to complete.
Side effects of laser hair removal in our Plano, McKinney, or Flower Mound facilities are mild, if experienced at all. Typical side effects may include mild redness or swelling for a few hours. The skin may feel slightly sunburned. Blistering, although rare, can occur.
After each treatment session, we recommend applying a full-spectrum, SPF 15, or higher sunscreen to exposed areas. Other than this step, normal activities can be immediately resumed. Over the course of a few weeks, it may look as though new hair is growing. In actuality, these are hairs being pushed from the treated follicles.
Do not wax, pluck, or bleach between TREATMENTS
Laser hair removal addresses the active growth cycle, just as shaving or other processes. During this active stage of growth is when hair contains high amounts of melanin, and can be treated effectively by laser energy. To reduce the amount of hair growth in a given area permanently, treatments are required through each new growth cycle, scheduled six to eight weeks apart. Though all people are different, most experience optimal results in four to six laser treatments.
Are results permanent?
The Soprano™ system has obtained FDA approval as a permanent hair reduction treatment. Clinical statistics for this system are quite promising, with many people experiencing permanent results. However, there are some in whom hair growth resumes months, or even years, after a completed course of treatment. This is often attributed to hormonal changes, such as pregnancy.
